The northernmost breeding site of Oriental Plover Charadrius veredus was found in 1999 in the southern Republic of Tuva. New information about this poorly known species that breeds in dry steppes and deserts of Central Asia was collected in that area in 2003–2005. A nest, eggs and downy chicks of this species are described for the first time; details about breeding habitats, foods, breeding schedule, territorial and parental behaviour are given.
