We present counts of all migrant waders along a stretch of the west coast of the Aldabra atoll in the Indian Ocean during 2003–2007. We also present estimates of the seasonal pattern of occurrence of eight of the more abundant species. We found substantial variation in the numbers of most species between years, but the only significant trends observed over time were in Crab Plovers, which increased, and Grey Plovers, which decreased. Comparison of our data with past records suggests that Curlew Sandpiper numbers have also decreased.
