Key publications relating to the Curlew Sandpiper Calidris ferruginea
The most important publications on the Curlew Sandpiper are listed. Together with the papers in this volume, the two sets of papers have a wide spread, both from the perspectives of geography and the range of topics considered. Geographically, the key gap in knowledge is in southern Asia. Conservation-relevant research is needed in the areas of foraging ecology, and our understanding of population dynamics is hindered by a lack of good survival estimates. A comprehensive collection of recoveries needs to be assembled, so that migration patterns can be overviewed on a global scale.
