Use of recorded chick calls is an effective technique to locate and capture Red Knots and other shorebirds during brood-rearing. We provide details of how to attract and catch adults with flightless and flighted young, and occasionally adults without young, using mist-nets and a bow-net. We also recommend best practices for determining the site of capture, processing the birds, and their release.
